Countries > Madagascar
Landing in Madagascar is probably the closest you’ll get to landing on another planet. The island, often misleading in its size, is two and a half times larger than the entire United Kingdom. Madagascar is unique for its many endemic species, which you won’t find anywhere else in the world. One of the best places to observe these creatures is Isalo National Park. This park, perhaps the most famous in the country, offers opportunities to see all types of lemurs, which you might recognize from DreamWorks' 'Madagascar' movies.
Throughout the rest of the country, you'll find numerous other reserves with diverse and unique landscapes, including giant baobab trees, the mesmerizing sharp rock formations of Tsingy de Bemaraha, and many others. In Nosy Be, you can take a break from your travels to enjoy some relaxation, incredible diving, and white sandy beaches similar to those in Zanzibar. Getting around Madagascar is an adventure in itself due to the country’s rough infrastructure.
Traveling from place to place might sometimes take two or three days, but along the way, you'll experience incredible adventures that can only be had on Africa’s public transport.
